About Karen Coggeshall
I am both a painter and a printmaker -- these two disciplines provide balance to my creative process and I freely move between the representational subjects in my paintings and the abstract imagery in my printmaking. My monoprints combine diverse inspirational sources (tapestries, Japanese wood-blocks and ceramics) with vibrant colors, patterns and textures to create compelling semi-abstractions. Painting "en Plein Air" has given me an appreciation for the hidden beauty in the city and surrounding environs where I live.
